St. Honoratus was born in Gaul in 350 and came from a distinguished Roman family. In his youth he renounced the worship of idols and gained his elder brother to Christ. They took St. Caprasius for their spiritual father, wishing to become hermits themselves. They went on pilgrimage to the Holy Land and visit Greece, Palestine, Syria and Egypt in 368. However, his brother died at Methoni, Messenia in Greece. Honoratus and Caprasius returned to Gaul and established themselves in the hills near Frejus before returning to Lerins, where they wished to imitate the Desert Fathers. In 400 Honoratus established the Monastery of Lerins. He died in 429 shortly after being consecrated by compulsion as Archbishop of Arles in 426. His feast day is on January 16.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
