Orthodox icon of Saint Demetrius the New of Basarabov on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Demetrius was born in the village Basarabov, Bulgaria in the 13th century, into a peasant family. He joined a monastery and later went to dwell in a cave in the forest near the River Lom. He was forewarned of his death, and when the day came, he lay down between two slabs of stone and gave up his soul in peace to God. His feast day is on October 27 and is the patron saint of the city Bucharest, Romania.
