Orthodox icon of Saint Andrew of Judgement on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Andrew was born in Crete and was a monk and priest. When Emperor Constantine V Copronimus was upended by the noble icons and wanted to eradicate icons from the ecclesiastical heritage, St. Andrew went to Constantinople to confront the emperor. The Emperor ordered his soldiers to arrest Andrew and sentenced him to death after beating and torturing him. His feast day is on October 17.
