St. Eleftherios was born in Tournai, 451 or 481. Persecutions of Christians forced the family to flee to the village Blandain, but after the conversion of King Clovis to Christianity, the family built a church there. He became bishop of Tournai, and was consulted by Pope Hormisdas on the matter of eradicating Arianism. St. Eleftherios convened a church council, and argued effectively against the Arians, who were angered by this. One day, as he was going to church, he was beaten up by a group of Arians and left for dead. His feast day is on February 20.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
