St. Cloud or Clodoald was born in 520 AD. and was the son of King Chlodomer of Orleans. When his father was killed in battle in 524 AD. in Burgundy, he and his brothers were brought up by their grandmother Saint Clotilde in Paris. When he grew up he cut off his hair with his own hands and embraced the monastic life. First he settled by himself in a cell as a hermit, but then put himself under the discipline of St. Severinus and received from him the monastic schema. He withdrew secretly from Paris to Provence and lived there for several years. He returned to Paris and was ordained priest in 551 AD. and served the Bishop of Paris. Afterwards Cloud retired to Nogent, where he built a monastery dependent on the Church of Paris. He died peacefully at Nogent in 560 AD. His feast day is on September 7.

Care Instructions
Care Instructions
My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
