The Venerable Stylianos (or Stylianus) lived around the sixth century. He lived a strict ascetic life in the wilderness, praying and fasting. The citizens of the area became aware of his holiness, and many sought him out for his advice and prayers. He became known as a wonderworker and healer, and especially for his love of children. He continued to heal children even after his death, and for this reason he is depicted in icons holding a child. To this day, his intercessions are invoked for protection and health for children, and for childless women to have children. He is often shown holding a scroll which says, "Guardian of children, gifts of God." His feast is celebrated on November 26.

My handpainted icons are made from natural materials that constantly interact with their environment. These above materials are sensitive to extreme light, heat and humidity.
Handling the icons should also be done cautiously; oils from our hands can stain their shiny surface. Dust can softly be removed with a pure white cloth.
Following the above simple instructions will guarantee that your icon will age gracefully through time and will be enjoyed by the generations to come.
