Orthodox icon of Saint Stephen the New Confessor on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
St. Stephen was born in Constantinople from Christian parents. At a young age he occupied himself with sacred letters, fasting and hard work. In the age of 16 he was garbed in the monastic schema and was entrusted with the care of the abbacy of St. Auxentios. When Emperor Constantine Copronymos learned that Stephen venerated the holy icons, sent soldiers to have him brought to him. After disciplining him with various torments, he was imprisoned in the Praetorium. He stayed there for 11 months. Standing before the Emperor, it was ordered that he be thrown to the grouund, where he was struck with stones and beaten with clubs and in this way he was killed. His feast day is on November 28.
