Orthodox icon of Saint Sophia and her daughters Agape, Pisti and Elpida on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.
Saint Sophia and her three daughters of Agape, Pisti and Elpida (Charity, Faith and Hope) lived in Rome during the years of Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD). They were distinguished for their morals and piety. The three girls martyred and they were beheaded. Saint Sophia died after she buried her children. Saints Sophia, Faith, Hope and Charity celebrate on September 17th.
