Size

Orthodox icon of Saint Arkadios the Wonderworker and Bishop of Arsinoe on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. It has been covered with varnish to keep the colors undiluted in time and humidity. Hanging clip included on the back of the icon.   

St. Arkadios was born in the village of Melandra, Cyprus and lived between the late 4th and early 5th century. At a young age Arkadios went to Constantinople, where he acquired higher education. When he returned to Cyprus, he often leave his home and hide in the mountains and the caves and the holes of the earth as an ascetic. He was ordained a priest from Nikon the Great, Bishop of Arsinoe. With the grace of God Arkadios had the gift to cast away demons from people, to cure sicknessess and to predict future events. After the death of Nikon the Great the people elected Arkadios as the new Bishop of Arsinoe. At a ripe old age, Arkadios died on August 29, which is also his feast day.
