Orthodox icon of Archangel Gabriel on thick plywood 20mm, which does not sting and keeps its shape over time. Preparation with acrylic stucco and have been used acrylic colors. Gabriel is an archangel with the power to announce God's will to mankind. Archangel Gabriel appears to the prophet Daniel to explain his visions, to Zechariah foretelling the birth of John the Baptist, and to Virgin Mary foretelling the birth of Jesus Christ. The name ''Gabriel'' means man of God. His feast day in Catholic Roman is on September 29, in Eastern Orthodox Church on March 26 and July 13, in Coptic Church on June 13, December 22 and June 26 and in Ethiopian Church on December 28 and July 26. He is the patron saint of telecommunication workers, radio broadcasters, messengers, postal workers, clerics, diplomats, stamp collectors, Portugal, the city of Santander in Philippines, and ambassadors.
